Flexibility and Effective Teaching in a Regular Classroom

Posted on April 26, 2011 at 12:44 AM

Today there was a presentation by Nathan Easton who is a Social Studies teacher and department head at Bishop Grandin High School in Calgary.  His topic and what he had to say about how he team teaches with a colleague had me captivated for the entire hour and a half he presented.  As a CTS teacher I already differenciate and the chances of having a second teacher to be teaching the same course as me at the same school at the same time is highly unlikely however, there were many other great ideas that I plan to adopt and use in my classes.  To get my students to be more responsible for their learning I would like them to take a larger role in planning their work schedule and having more choice in which credit units they study.  That is all for today...time to reflect.
