My Teaching Phiosophy

  • I believe that I have a calling to be a teacher and teaching is my purpose.
  • I believe that teachers not only teach students, they teach us.
  • I believe it is important to be a positive role model to my students. 
  • I believe technical skills learned through career and technology studies courses are priceless to students' lives and success in the careers they persue.
  • I believe patience, understanding and having a sense of humor are essential teaching attrributes.
  • I believe that learning is a lifelong endeavor, and that school is one of many places where learning takes places.
  • I believe in establishing a classroom where all students feel safe, accepted and comfortable.
  • I believe that by empowering students to be responsible for their own learning helps to create innovative and intelligent citizens who have open minds to new ideas.
  • I believe that teachers have a direct impact on the future citizens of our world.  It is important to encourage our youth to volunteer and to be confident that they can make a difference in this world and that they are in important part of our future.
  • I believe that by encouraging students to make decisions on their own helps them learn how to provide for themselves and to be contributing members of their community and society.
  • I believe school is a place for students to learn and improve their social skills.
  • I believe incorporating technology in instruction is important to the technology skill development of students.  (example: asking the students to assist with the technology even if I know how to use the technology)
  • I believe in encouraging positive self-esteem.
  • I believe not only in  increasing student knowledge and skills but expressing the good qualities of a student even in the most disruptive student.
  • I believe in teaching course content in a way that it is relevant to all students using a diverse amount of classroom activities and explaining to them why they are learning what they are learning. *Relevance*

  • I believe that every child has the right to an equal oppurtunity for education no matter what race, religion, staus or present level of knowledge.
  • I believe professional development is important for a teacher to increase their knowledge, skills and attributes.
  • Flexibility, building repoire, routine, structure, and inclusion is all possible at the same time.
